WORLD CULINARY COUNCIL 2025

London was recently the epicenter of global gastronomy as the Relais & Châteaux World Culinary Council converged for three days of intense debate, innovation, and, of course, incredible food. This wasn't just a meeting; it was a vibrant collective of the world's finest chefs coming together to forge the future of the culinary world and deepen the values that define the prestigious Association.

Guided by Relais & Châteaux President Laurent Gardinier and Vice-President of Chefs Mauro Colagreco, the gathering was a masterclass in camaraderie and intellectual curiosity. The chefs, who are known for pioneering the finest hospitality and cuisine across the globe, dedicated their time in London to exploring new projects, exchanging ideas, and solidifying their shared commitment to a more responsible and inspiring future for food.

A Journey of Culinary Discovery

Setting up base in the elegant Relais & Châteaux properties 11 Cadogan Gardens and The Chelsea Townhouse, the chefs embarked on a deep dive into the city's culinary landscape, blending intellectual discussion with hands-on experience.

A major highlight was the inspiring keynote from journalist Dan Saladino. His session focused on the critical link between ingredient storytelling and global biodiversity trends, challenging the chefs to think even more deeply about the provenance of their ingredients and the impact their choices have on the planet.

The innovation continued with a practical, hands-on workshop at Silo, a true pioneer in the zero-waste restaurant movement. This session offered tangible, actionable insights into minimizing environmental impact without sacrificing creativity or quality. The Council also grappled with the cutting edge of technology, holding insightful and spirited discussions on the evolving role of AI in gastronomy—exploring how machine learning might assist in everything from kitchen efficiency to menu development.

The Taste of Innovation

The event culminated with a special media showcase, offering a chance for the culinary world's storytellers to connect directly with the chefs. Twenty-five journalists met the Council members, hearing their personal journeys, their philosophies, and their vision for gastronomy.

The grand finale was an unforgettable tasting experience at Mauro Colagreco's eponymous London restaurant. The media and chefs alike were treated to a showcase of his inventive, world-renowned cuisine, perfectly embodying the spirit of innovation and excellence the Council champions.

The work done in London solidifies the Relais & Châteaux World Culinary Council's mission to shape a better, more sustainable, and truly inspiring future for gastronomy. They've left their mark on the city and, more importantly, on the path forward for global cuisine. We’re already looking forward to seeing what they cook up next year!
